Drain hole in bottom do muffler area??

I was wondering if you guys could check or already know if there is a drain hole looking "hole" on bottom center of exhaust.

Just discovered it today as I was planning for a black spray paint cover up of the exhaust

Took a close up and looks 'on purpose'

Yes. Comes free of charge option on every new Cadillac. Condensation has to go some where. (garage floor )

It either goes out onto the road or the fluid pools inside the muffler until it creates more issues. This is the common way to deal with fluid from exhaust.

I just painted my muffler, and couldn't find a hole like this photo shows. Can anyone confirm the size? Are we talking toothpick diameter sized, smaller, or larger? Where located (frontwards, back, or a corner)?

With the 3.6L it's roughly a toothpick diameter hole. It's located on the bottom side of the muffler. Very front edge (facing rear axle) and dead center.

It leaves a nice dark racing stripe right down the middle of the muffler. Follow it upstream.

That little hole will save your exhaust system from rusting out from the inside. Muffler shops hate that. GM has been doing that for years and years.

Thanks. I've already painted it, so no stripe to follow. Then again, I've only got a little over 200 km so it may have not stained yet. Never noticed a hole during painting. I'll check to be sure it's still open.
