    Rear rumble

Been noticing a rumbling type noise on my 2012 Performance. Initial thought was a wheel bearing but dealer said no. They said "cupped" rear tires are the culpret. Since I just bought the SRX and noticed the rear tires cupped I agreed. The original owner apparently did not rotate the tires soon enough. Anyway, I was in a strong cross wind the other day and noticed it was louder. Anyone ever hear of issues with air leaks around the rear hatch area?

I am having this part added next time I go in for service. It might help your situation.

Thanks my 2010 has a wind noise also. I put masking tape on the outside liftgate and it was quite no noise so I know where the noise is coming from. Off tto the dealer in the moring. I will let you know results as this is the windy season in Ohio.

Dealer ordered part Wed had appointment Fri moring took about 1/2 hr to install. Cut the wind noise down considerably. This was my biggest issue wind noise really bothered me.There goes my excuse to get a new SRX.

Can't thank you enough for this suggestion. Had the part installed yesterday and NOISE IS GONE... Amazing. Wonder how many people have the same issue and ignore it?

Open your sun roof at high speed. Does it make a funny noise? Mine does. I quit even opening the sun roof because of it. This car was not adequately tested before being thrown onto the unsuspecting masses. There are so many obvious things broken that I wouldn't admit to it if I were a QA person on the SRX.
