    whirring noise

When I went to the local store this morning I noticed an unusual 'whirring' noise coming from the engine that I'd never heard. The car ran fine. When I came out of the store and re-started, the noise was gone. This morning was the first time in months the temperature dipped below freezing, so I figured this may have something to do with it, although it was above freezing when I first started.

Strange whirs or unfamiliar noises always make me nervous..............

Thanks, Gregory, but no need to apologize. Cars, like people, make moans and groans depending on mood and weather. Thanks for checking out Caddy customers' concerns. Great site and a great car.

Just curious, do you and Lara drive Caddys?

I heard the same sound the other day when I was changing the oil in my SRX. I would guess it's a solenoid of some sort, as I had just run the engine to warm the oil. Nothing to worry about. My wife's Prius v makes many strange sounds, both off and when running.

You are very welcome retcad! We have driven them during ride and drive events with our team, but neither of us own one. We both hope to own one in the near future!
