AC & Controls went haywire yesterday

Took a long drive > 150 miles and everything was fine. Stopped for breakfast and came out started the SRX to find AC wouldn't come on, none of the controls would respond. Lucky it was a cloudy 84 degree day. I drove home hot and shut off the engine. I used the remote to start the car, the ac started working! I pushed the start button to activate the controls and I got a message that stated ventilation/AC controls do not function with the vehicle off. I again shut off the engine and re-started it, now everything is working fine again. Very strange I was heading in to call the dealer and take it in when I decided to try the remote start. If it happens to anyone else that may get your AC working again.

We have had this happen a handful of times and cannot reproduce it on demand - therefore, will likely never get figured out. Essentially what happens is exactly as you say - controls don't respond. Nothing happens when you adjust fan or temp and nothing comes up on the display to confirm you're pressing the buttons.

I guess as long as all these wonderful electronics behave like a common pc we'll all be subject to glitches and bugs. As one of the original DOS engineers stated when the pc needed to be rebooted "it has gone off road into the weeds", exactly as I experienced as I tried different reboot techniques that finally worked. Thanks for backing up my story Andy.
