Bluetooth pairing via a PC bluetooth dongle?

Has anybody tried streaming audio via a pc bluetooth dongle? It would plug into the USB port, I just wonder if it would pair up to a phone.

Here's how you play music via the Aux input with a bluetooth jack (dongle). Basically you plug the BluBridge Mini-Jack RX into your Aux Input, set your source on the head unit to Aux and pair your Bluetooth transmit device to it. Viola! You now have bluetooth music with no cable.

If you plug the USB cable that comes with the device into a power adapter that has female USB connection, you can power the device and never have to worry about recharging it. The device, Aux In, and USB cable are all concealed in your console and no ugly cables dangling out for others to see.

You can find it cheaper on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Miccus-Mini-ja...tooth+receiver

However, I stopped using it because of BT compression. I found the sound quality I gave up using BT wasn't worth it. So now I just plug a cable directly from my phone into Aux-In and stream my music from MOG.com because it has some of the highest bitrate music streaming in the business--not to mention its huge library. All for only $9.99 a month.

You like them better than Pandora?

I use Spotify. It streams at 320 kps, which is great quality. Main advantage over Pandora is you can save songs onto your phone or iPod and play with no data usage. Download a bunch of songs via WiFi before a road trip and you are good to go. Or you can play radio stations based on artists or genres like Pandora (using data or WiFi).

I tried both Spotify and MOG and I prefer MOG. I use it on my phone, computer, and home AV system via Roku. Playlists created on any one device are available on any other. The MOG radio feature allows you to customize whether it's one artist or many in a graduated sort of way. At one time, the bitrate of MOG was higher than Spotify. That's why I went with it. That may no longer be the case. In any event, I like it better than XM Radio with the exception that I have to look at my phone to change things. But, unlike XM, the radio feature doesn't replay the same old music over and over.

I wish that Bluetooth would get enhanced so that it wasn't so compressed.

I've tried so many different ways to make our vehicle Bluetooth and yes I tried the dongle and I'm hear to tell you no the srx will not even recognize it. As suggested about is use a Bluetooth device that have an aux output is the only choice. You have plenty of choices when it come to the device and I must say that my Jabra BT3030 is my favorite as it give me the ability to change the song, volume, etc vs anything else you WILL have to pick up your phone or music player to skip track. It will be a personal preference on your end. Good luck and I hope this was useful.

I ended up using this. It works well with my samsung smartphone. It also allows and utilizes Bluetooth connection with hands free phone capability.
