Re: Modding the factory LED accent lights

Well I installed my LED Fog Lamps from the above Vendor yesterday afternoon. They look great on my 2011 Platinum Ice SRX and I wired them so that they would come on automatically upon start just like the factory driving lights. It is amazing how much brighter the front of my SRX is now. I hope this adds another layer of safety while driving.

They are different, and do look nice.

The only thing I can see, is if these are made of the same 'awesome' quality chrome that mine are, whatever isn't 3M'd is going to chip extremely easy (then they'll look bad). I like how the ones on mine cutoff the top of the fog lights nicely to assist other drivers/ focus more light on the road. It's a nice feature from design.

Mine just has the chrome circle around the light, and yep, it definitely chipped more than OEM. I 3M'd the main light bar, because I know our road debris would chip it.

This is ABS plastic with chrome plating. I choose the former which Captain had on cos they are much easier to maintain. Esp when it's down that low, besides after close inspection the LEDs are not align in line (crooked). Pls see attached link.

yeah, the price of the ones the Captain has make it more attractive too. The quality thing scares me a bit though. I'm pretty OCD - so I'm not sure how I feel about the chipping issue. Could the chrome ring from the OEM one be translated to the new one? Is it a separate piece? I wish I could find some info on the ones that didn't have the chrome around the light bar that I've seen in some pics. Almost looks more OEM to me that way...

They come in one piece, inclusive the wiring harness.

Great, had it for a month. No issues, took about 40 minutes to install.

Re: Modding the factory LED accent lights

Sure wish I could find these without the fog cutout (for my non-fog equipped Lux). I suppose it wouldnt be that hard, or look bad, to fill in the cutout with a piece of plexiglass, glued from behind...
