Hi fellow owners, need some inputs as to the captioned subject. Since my vehicle do not come with DRL, can I install aftermarket lights. And does the vehicle comes wired for DRL ? I am not tech savvy, so any assistance on the subject are much appreciated.
I'm assuming you mean aftermarket fog lamps. Daytime running lamps (DRLs) are standard on all models and keep your headlines on while driving, although at a lower intensity.
You can turn them off manually if you wish, but I feel safer with them on. There are 'cutouts' in the front that appear to be able to accommodate fog lamps. Not sure about pre-wiring.
Also, it's also a good idea to check and be sure their addition would not negatively affect your warranty should you have problems afterwards. Good luck!
Retcad thanks for reverting. Don't think mine comes with DRL, only the twilight sentinel. It comes with the fog lamp tho. I have a luxury model (China) specs if not wrong.
I added the GM fog lights to my luxury model shortly after purchase. Although the cost was high, as listed above, I'm very pleased with both the look and functionality.
Albert is in China, so without pictures it is going to be extremely difficult to know what the differences between U.S., Canada, and Chinese models are.
I did the same as @300.29.1 above. Cost me $700. Factory kit from GM installed at the dealership. Came with everything needed do it and retains your warranty.
Yes Captain. How do I get the DRL to come on automatically. Don't know if my vehicle is wired for it though. Much appreciate. TQ
