    Just Traded

I just traded my 2010 SRX AWD for a 2013 Volt. With 3K off for GM financing and $7500 tax credit, plus the 26K for my Caddy, the deal was too good to resist! Our other car is a 2012 Buick Enclave, driven primarily by my wife. Now that I am retired, I didn't feel I needed two large CUVs for my short trips to the Y and the senior center, chiroprator, etc. Anyway, just want to say thanks to all the great members of this forum who have helped in so many ways and I'll still check in with you from time to time to see the latest buzz.

Do you have a 220 outlet handy or 110? Good luck with it!

    Re: Just Traded

I was able to flush mount the cord caddy to the garage ceiling where there is a 110 outlet for the door opener. I put a J hook in the ceiling so the drop was ajacent to the charge door on the Volt. I made a loop near the end of the cord so I could hang it up on the same ceiling J hook when it is not in use. Very pleased the way it all worked out. Thanks!

Good luck with your great new purchase!

There are over a dozen VOLTs at my place of work. We even have special "VOLT" stations set up around all three of our manufacturing facilities and some of the stations even have 220 lines which can provide a full charge within 4 hours. Everyone that owns them seem to really love theirs. I have driven a few of them around myself and I was very impressed. I can not wait until early next year to be able to test drive the 2014 Cadillac's ELR version too.

Good luck with your new "electrifying ride." I'll be watching the ELR as we are in the perfect situation for an electric type of car.

    Re: Just Traded

Are all 4 wheels of a Volt driven? Will the pricing of the Volt go down as more people, like e004698, buy them? It looks like a cool car, just way too expensive for what it is, even with the Obama tax credit. Maybe, the ELR will be priced similarly and more appropriately for a Cadillac?
