Cadillac SRX Second Generation Forum - 2010+ Discussion, How smooth and fast is acceleration 2013 SRX? in Cadillac SRX Forums; My first SRX was the 2010 model.
I believe it was 265hp.
It had horrible acceleration. If you would quickly ...
It had horrible acceleration. If you would quickly take off at a light, the car would sputter as it accelerated. The "trick" was to put it into SPORT mode where it really gave a smooth thrust. Interestingly, if I wanted to, I could always be the first out of the gate when the light turned green.
So, I am really looking forward to this 308hp engine which I am guessing is going to give me significantly more power.
How is the acceleration? Is it a smooth, fluent and powerful push from 0 to whatever?
NJRonbo in a nut shell you should find that the 3.6L will satisfy all your desires ... and have a very quick and responsive engine. The torque range is excellent through out the RPM range and is very smooth. I can go over our bridges here in WNY with no down shifting for more power like I use to get with the 3.0L. I can actually squeal the tires from time to time in a fast acceleration scenario.
Good to know. My 2012 Enclave AWD has the 3.6 and much more power than my 2010 SRX4, so I expected the "new" ones would have more power. But I am still curious why the 3.0L with 255 hp is so lame. The dealer did some engine and transmission updates which, to be fair, were noticiable but it is nothing like my Buick.
