    2012 srx hitch/wiring harness

Just wondering if someone can help me out here. I want to install a trailer hitch and wiring to my 2012 SRX and want to know if the SRX came pre-wired from the factory. It does not have the tow package, but I have been told that there may be a wiring harness somewhere under the SUV where I can plug in a 4wire connector. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to have to splice wires if I can help it.
    Thanks

I don't think so. If it there, I certainly couldn't find it. I installed the aftermarket wiring harness from Etrailer. The hitch itself was a piece of cake. The harness was a bit more difficult.

Yes there is a connector block setup already with a cap on it. Some manufacturer's will give you the proper block to put right in place.
    At least with the '10/'11's.

Let us know if you are able to make this work on your vehicle. I couldn't find that connector and according to Etrailer this harness is only for tow ready vehicles, which mine wasn't. I really like to know if I did all of the extra work of installing the Etrailer harness and didn't need to.

The harness is there. It's tucked up between the fascia & impact beam.
It's not visible, you have to feel for it.

Thanks to GM Jim I was able to locate the wiring harness right where he said it would be. All I needed was the $10.00 flat connector and it plugged right into the existing harness that was by the rear bumper. No need to splice any wires and couldn't have been easier. thanks again

Thanks for the feedback. You saved yourself $50 and more importantly, a lot of work installing the aftermarket wiring. Guess, i got some bad info from Etrailer.

    Re: 2012 srx hitch/wiring harness

Has anyone installed the wiring on a 2013? I just bought one and everywhere I look it shows that a wiring kit it needed to install, that no easy-connect is on the 2013. Hard to believe. Any help appreciated.
