Nice looking! Did you do the installation yourself? If so, any problems? How much clearance was there between the wheel and caliper?

Yes, did the installation myself. Very easy. Just slip a clip on each side of caliper and and attach the cover with locking nuts. With the 20" wheels there is about 3/8" of space between caliper cover and back of wheel spokes.

    Re: Caliper Covers Installed

Caliper covers will cause the caliper to overheat and cause brake failure or boiling fluid. Just paint the calipers.

    Re: Caliper Covers Installed

It is the caliper that gets hot and air cools the caliper and wheel; I can't imagine a mere cover over the caliper causing much problem???? Any Data???

    Re: Caliper Covers Installed

I didn't think they would increase heat build up because they only cover the sides. Air flow through the front and out the top and back is NOT impeded. I didn't think they could actually reduce heat. Watch the video and you be the judge.

    From the MGP website:

Does the caliper cover trap in brake heat?

MGP Caliper Covers actually reduce caliper heat. The Caliper Cover only covers the front of the caliper allowing all heat to escape up through the top of the caliper. See our video demo (below) to view the field test.

Have you ever seen a race car with caliper covers? The cover insulates the caliper and promotes brake fluid boiling.

    Re: Caliper Covers Installed

NO reason to not have covers on the race car; the caliper is totally inside the wheel with air being both blown and diverted towards the brakes on a
track that uses a lot of brakes! Too small for advertising or they would be on a race car...lol.

    Re: Caliper Covers Installed

It is NOT a caliper cover that covers the entire caliper. It is a thin piece of 1 dimensional aluminum that covers(ie:dresses-up) only the the side of the caliper you can see thru the wheel. There is nothing covered that impedes cooling.

That's what it says on their web-site -"reduces caliper heat".
