Lencarguy, The Lucky Strike cigarette commercials used to say that "Smoking was good for your health" but that didn't mean much since it was not an independent source. Most of the high tech brakes use paint or a coating to add color to the calipers, not a cover. That doesn't mean that it will harm your brakes because most of us will never approach the heat that a race car attains during a race. If you have ever watched a night time race the entire caliper and disk of all four wheels are almost white hot. We will never approach that kind of heat. I am betting that it will be of no consequence either way. No harm-no benefit.

I was not concerned with the cooling of the brakes, on which I am sure this 1 dimensional cover has little effect. I installed purely for looks.

    Re: Caliper Covers Installed

Here's my caliper covers. And for anybody worried about them reducing heat transfer, or any air transfer issues know this. Myself and a friend with an 07 Cobalt SS SC with race brake pads went on the same roads: Pikes peak, (8km worth) of Trail Ridge Road, Cherohala Skyway, and Tail of the Dragon. All driven aggressively. He brought a laser heat reader, and every time we checked the brakes on our vehicles, mine were always at least 150*F cooler, front and back. It could be I was using my brakes less, or an ode to Cadillac's already good design on brake cooling, but either way, these covers in no way affected my braking or temperatures to the point where i was worried. Also no fade.

Very cool, I've been looking for ways to dress up the SRX. Not to bad of a price, anyone else have some? Would enjoy more pics.

I am more concerned with the bad links in this thread than brake overheating.

I put the same red covers on my 2014 red Premium about a year ago and they look awesome. Lots of comments from people walking by and/or in traffic. No heat issues in South Florida. One caution when installing. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. The studs can easily pull thru the aluminum. The instruction give clear torque specs for tightening.

Hi just put black ones on mine. I had a hard time. the fronts are on but had to use washers to get the clips tight. I can't get the rears on. did you have to bend or modify the clips?
