Just an fyi
I haven't had a single problem with my 2011 SRX but over the past week I came across one. I was scheduled for regular maintenance and I had been noticing when I applied the brakes at certain speeds at certain amount of brake pressure I would get a sort of grinding. I told em about this and at first they said it was prolly the weather. Well after they took it for a test drive this is what I got on my service paper. J# 3+37CVZ CAD BRAKES...customer advises intermittently/frequently when performing an aggressive stop from 20mph brakes make a grinding noise. Test drove heard noise on stopping with med pedal pressure with hard breaking at almost a stop can hear pads making noise. Raise and inspect found rotors glazed resurface rotors clean and lube pads Reassemble and test drive ok.... Sure enough everything is good. Just wanted to post this so if you have a prob and you don't have a dealer that is as awesome as ELCO and will look for the prob you know how to point them in the right direction.

I wouldn't be too happy with my dealership if they resurfaced my rotors that had only 10,000 mile on them. Down the road, the rotors will want to warp quicker and easyier because they are thinner now. It will cost you money sooner with a much needed brake job. The next time the brake shop will say, sorry we can not cut your rotors, they are too thin. Past the legal thickness.)
