Side mirrors retract on start up

Today my wife started her SRX and the two outside side mirrors went to the retract position. I tried to use the switch inside to get them to re seat but it would not work. I then reset the two mirrors manually and the mirror control switch worked ok after that. I did not try to electrically retract them because she had to go somewhere. Is this a common thing or has anyone else had this happen? Is it just a one time glitch or is it something that has to be reset on the computer?

I would guess it's one more bug in the software that has shown up. I haven't had your exact problem but I have repositioned my passenger side mirror using the electronic switch only to find it sometimes reverts back to its previous position. Also, I have had the console dimming go from dimmed to full bright at night all by itself. I set it dimmer and some number of weeks later, it's back to full brightness with no intervention on my part.

I think the car has issues with remembering some of the settings.

When my wife got home I electrically retracted and reset the two mirrors and all is normal now. Kinda scary that there are glitches in the control computer that will only occur when many many conditions exist that they didn't have time to check before going to market. That is not unusual though since even the aviation industry does it too. With millions and millions of variables there is really no way to eliminate all glitches. I do like the person's idea above that we should have the auto option to retract the mirrors when the car is stopped. Great idea!
