    Sport Mode

Im a big fan of driving in manual mode in all my cars, as I used to drive stick shift and still miss it. Occassionally I will leave it in sport mode and let it shift itself. It's pretty interesting in the SRX. Since peak torque is at 2400rpm, sport mode shifts in a way to try to keep the car at low rpms in the sweet spot. I notice when driving around town 20-40mph, it will quickly run through the up shifts all the way to 6th gear to keep the rpms around 2500. Keeps it pulling strong as well as smooth and quiet. Pretty cool since this is the opposite of what many other cars with higher peak torques would do in sport mode, which would be to hold the gears longer so it revs higher. Never really though about it. Just figured sport mode would keep it just revving higher and sportier. I like that it tries to keeps it in peak torque range. Just an observation. Not all my posts are negative. Lol

    Re: Sport Mode

The magz particullarly liked sport mode in the SRX as I remember, it's definitally the more driver's car in a comparison between it and the RX. Me personally, I loved using it too, it's genuienly a good feature of the car, infact all of GM's transmission sport modes seem to respond well.

    Lucky folks with the 3.6L LFX engines! The 3.0L LF1 in the '10's and '11's is 223 lb·ft torque @ 5100 rpm

Yea, good old 3.0L, WIND it up!

But yea, sport mode does a good job, and even subtly changes suspension dampness for more sporty and less body roll too. Its nice. And i can't shift as fast in sport manual as it can in sport auto!

    Re: Sport Mode

Does the suspension change for more sporty ride only in the Premium and Performance packages, or does it slightly change in all models when you switch to Sport Mode? If so i see no reason to ever ride with it NOT in sport mode.

Only 'Luxury & Performance', and 'Premium' AWD models get the suspension modes.

I've never tried the sports mode. I try it tomorrow and see what I've been missing. I'll report back.

So this slight change in handling/suspension when u switch to sport mode is different that the suspension and handling upgrade you get with performance/premium models? What is the difference in these changes?

    Re: Sport Mode

The 'Luxury & Performance' and 'Premium' trims gets a version of magnorhetological style suspension for better ride and handling with the 20" rims. Plus when you bump it into Sport Mode, it tightens the suspension to give a more sporty ride, along with the transmission changes for more performance.
