Ordered the 2012 SRX on 10/25/11
Just over 7 weeks. Picked it up on Wed had 3 miles on it.
Gray Flanal Metalic Luxury.
The wife is happy now. It will take her a wile to figure all the switches out.

I am sure she is one happy camper! The color Grey Flannel is B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l

I had that color on my 2010 which I just loved! That color has some light blue metallic flecks in the paint and sometimes, in the bright sun light, the SRX will take on a silver blueish hue. A friend of mine told me when I first got my SRX that he really liked my new blue Cadillac! I said what??? :wacky: I explained to him that it was not blue but a Grey Metallic color. He said NO it is not grey it is BLUE! He insisted that I was nuts and that it was indeed a blue SRX. Man oh man I thought he had way too much to drink! :alchi:

Then on one sunny day (not too many of those in the mid of winter) I was checking out how beautiful the paint job was on my SRX when suddenly I realized it did indeed have a slight blue cast to it. :banghead:

I am glad to hear that GM brought back that color ... I might have ordered it again if it would have been available when I had ordered my 2012 SRX back in June.

Please post some pictures soon. :)

One thing I have learned is to stop buying cars with multi-coat paint jobs like Platinum Ice on the SRX as one example. If you get a door ding and want a professional to touch it up, they all but tell you to do it right means painting the entire door. If you try to use touch-up paint, it just isn't the same.

WOW!!! How did NY miss out on another great way to tax their residents to death???? :holycrap:

If we had a tax like Missouri does there would be a lot less new vehicle purchases in NY that's for sure. :bulging:

BTW: How much personal property tax is on an SRX if I may ask????

Man, I sure don't want to turn this thread into a tax war, but.....

Consumption taxes are a more "progressive" form of taxation. You don't consume, you don't pay. Unlike Texas where we have no state income tax but outrageous property taxes. I had to sell my longtime home because I couldn't afford the property taxes anymore. So if you get laid off (me), you still have to pay your property taxes or lose your home; whereas, if you had a state income tax, you would owe nothing and keep your home.

I just renewed my annual registration on my 2010 SRX Premium and the total fee was $65.25. Then there will be the $35.00 for the annual inspection.

One thing that just cracks me up about the American tax system is how much money we pay in taxes that people don't even consider taxes. For example: there is the federal tax, social security tax, medicare tax, state income tax (for many states), then there are all the little taxes that add up. They are on your phone bill, cell phone bill, cable bill, hell, almost any bill is laden with them.

When you add it all up we are paying as much or more than these so called democratic socialist states in Europe and Scandinavia. But look how much less we actually get than they do. And don't give me that crap that they are all going bankrupt. Have you looked at the financial situation of the USA lately? We are too! At least they get something for all their money!

<steps down off soap box>
