Re: Potential new SRX owner... nervous about pulling the trigger!

So... not to take over this thread but I, too, am in the same situation. We are currently debating the purchase of a 2011 SRX turbo performance limited (my preference-new) or a 2010 Mercedes ML350 (her preference-CPO, low miles) to pick up this weekend. Although I've heard a fair amount of debate concerning the 3.0 N/A engines, I haven't heard as much concerning the turbo motors. As I remember, I looked at a 2010 a few months ago but backed off when I learned the ?turbo inlet hose? had a couple repairs on the dealership's shop record; although it seems this issue is dealt with under warranty. But is it common? And it appears there is a transmission reprogram (this is not to say the ML does not have issues, I mean lets be serious, its a Mercedes, they are always broken). I'm just trying to load up some persuasion ammo to grab the SRX over the ML

And also, a supplier discount? I guess I'm a little confused; the only GM I've ever owned was a 94 Camaro when I was younger (somehow a 135k motor handled 400hp-no clue how). Other than that I've only owned Dodges (Rams, plural) and she's only owned Mercedes (SLK and a C). This area of automobiles is entirely foreign to me.

As an employee, I can offer you a discount.

    Example:
    2012 Performance SRX
    MSRP + Delivery $44405
    Supplier discount $42647
    $$ in your pocket $1758

$1758 is chump change to some, I guess.

    Hi Jim

Would a supplier discount work for a Canadian purchase?
$1758 is not chump change in my book.

    Thanks for your input

I don't know why not, Toxic. We have people that work at an assembly plant in Oshawa.

Yeah, $1758 is substantial, especially considering that i'll finally be able to drive to ski slopes with awd! My email is *** deleted to prevent spam *** .

And again, does anyone have any sort of experience (good and bad) they can attest to for the 2.8turbo awd srx? Especially when it comes to passing on the highway (i drive to phx often, and a significant amount of time is spent on a two-lane road).

    Thanks all,

Guys, since I personally only get one code a month, I need to be sure you are going to use it.
My past experience is, that one out of ten codes, actually get used. Then when someone really needs
one, I have to scramble to find someone willing to give their code up. I would suggest to have your
salesman contact me at jamesdothumphreyatgmdotcom. I will be more than happy to supply a code
at that time. Thanks for considering GM!!

    I will need
    Zip code
    date of birth

GMJim can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Supplier Discount is only applicable to new vehicles. That being the case, the 2.8 turbo is not an option as it was only offered in 2010 and early 2011 models. Not to worry though, the 3.6 DI has the pretty much the same power as the turbo and uses regular unleaded. I love my turbo but I'm looking forward to the 3.6 the next time around.

Re: Potential new SRX owner... nervous about pulling the trigger!

I am buying a new 2011 SRX Performance in the morning, wish me luck! Yes the 2012 has a bigger engine but considering it is for the wife who drives like a snail, I will take it considering the money off and 0% financing. I wish I would have gotten on this forum earlier and saw GMJim's post so I could have requested a code through my salesman! Can this still take place?

GMJim I am one of the ten that actually used the suppliers code you sent to me and I saved almost $2000.00. I purchased a 2012 SRX Premium Red Crystal Tintcoat. I LOVE my new Cadillac. Thanks again for your support.

GMJim, could I use a supplier discount and the GM card earnings I've accrued? With the recent mailer that's out, that would mean a savings of $2500 in-addition to the $1758 for a 2012 SRX Performance model.

JZ, you can use current incentives, supplier discount, GM card, haggeling, etc, to get into your new Caddy.
I would be glad to help you.

I emailed my salesman today and gave him jims email address and explained to him about the supplier discount code. He told me that if I wanted to use this code, I would lose the deal I got and the price would go up. Is he feeding me a line? I was supposed to do the deal today but they had to get the car and it took longer than expected so we are doing the deal tomorrow.

Thanks Jim, that's good to know. We haven't even haggled/talked price yet. Hopefully my sales guy will be up for it as it sounds like less hassle for him.
