Upgrade from 2010 to 2012 differences

We have a 2010 Performance edition, but with the suspension and gas tank issues, we are contemplating going to a 2012.

Where can I find the 2012 specs?

    Thanks!

I don't have the link but you can google "GM order guide" and everything GM wants you to know about the SRX will come up.

the engine is the big difference... 3.6L offered instead of teh 2.8L Turbo... 3.0L still offered

there may be other changes as well (paint and package bundles) ...

3.0L is gone completely for 2012.

Besides inflation there would be slightly higher costs do to the newer redesigned 3.6. that alone would justify a slightly higher price over the old 3.0 version. Plus you must add to that the newer features and refinements such as the double insulated glass, heated steering wheel, added insulation and the new door looks added to the door panels etc etc. Mind you some of this is minor but certainly would justify some additional costs.

Can someone quantify the 2012 vs 2011 price increase on an apples to apples comparison? As an example the base MSRP for a 2011 SRX Premium AWD was $49,730. Unfortunately the Cadillac.com website doesn't even show the 2012 SRX (duh) to compare the price of the 2012 Premium AWD. If anyone has that price we'll know the year over year price increase for inflation, the new engine, and other standard equipment improvements.

The CTS base price increased ... similar situation here probably.

I think some of it has to do with the initial year being priced lower to entice more buyers to jump on the new model.

I don't think you can compare apples to apples like you want... sure you can compare, but it's not apples to apples

We all know they have the pricing out much earlier than now but still there is nothing on their websites.

IMO: I believe GM holds off on publicly posting prices on their websites for their new MY (Model Year) vehicles until they have more of their previous 2011 MY vehicles off the dealers lots. This happens every year at this time with the start of every new MY. I believe it is because they want more buyers to consider the previous MY vehicles first.

The 2012 SRX Premium Collection AWD is $49,660 with destination. Technically, compared to the end of the 2011my pricing for Performance & Premium AWD, they went down slightly in price.

The chrome tech wheels increased from $450 to $495.

Given these numbers, the 2012 Premium AWD is actually $70 less than the same model 2011. A pretty nice value proposition given the 2012 has a much better engine and several other nice improvements.

To take the comparison one step further and if you'll assume that the 3.6 DI engine is very close power wise to the 2.8 Turbo, my 2010 Turbo Premium AWD had a MSRP of $52185 including destination ($825 in 2010). Then the value improvement for the 2012 is significantly greater at $2525 less than my 2010 turbo for pretty much the same power and quite a few features added in 2011 and 2012 over the 2010. Also if you quantify the savings of regular vs premium fuel, you save another $150 per year for 15,000 miles @20mpg, @ 20 cents per gallon savings.

    I think I just talked myself into a 2012...

There's less torque on the 3.6L vs the 2.8L turbo ... but the HP is about the same
