So I started to burn a few comedy clips here and there to test out in my SRX. When I put the disc in , the screen reads the dvd just fine and the show starts playing but the video won't show until i press "fullscreen on the bottom left" of the screen. That is fine for the first show/track, however, after the first 5 min show is over..theres like a 3 second pause as if u were listening to a regular cd and it switches to the next track. The second shows starts playing but I cannot see the video until I press the Fullscreen button again on the monitor ! ... I must be burning it wrong b/c the video is not playing continuously? the dvd is playing continuously but not the video ...or when i want to skip and press seek, it skips to the next show and starts playing but the video does not show until i click "fullscreen" again
i burn all divx files as data onto a dvr using nero (iso)
Yours is working the way it was intended to. The system is basically designed to play Divx "movies", not clips. I can fit about six full length movies (DVD ripped to AVI) on one DVD. When you press "Skip Forward" it plays the next movie in the sequence. The reason the movie doesn't show unless you press the "Fullscreen" soft key is because it's designed to work in conjunction with the rear seat entertainment system. With the RSE system rear seat passengers can watch a movie on their flip up screens while the driver and front seat passenger listen to another source, XM, USB, Aux, etc. In a situation like that, you'd only press "Fullscreen" button if you also wanted to watch the same movie.
Can I play DIVX (or any other movie for that matter) via DVD even if I don't have the rear entertainment system?
Yes, the pop-up Nav/Radio/HVAC/CONFIG screen doubles as a DVD screen. This might not sound like a big deal to some people. But this is not the case in all vehicles. Note, the video portion of movies is only displayed while the car is in "Park". If you shift into "Drive" the audio portion of the movie continues, but the video portion shuts off.
