Mine is on the blink again. Very comforting on a 98 degree day.

The record/near record temperatures we have been experiencing here in the Northeast the past 10 days has me feeling badly for those suffering through this A/C snafu, with little relief in sight.

    Dealer could not duplicate problem.............................
I picked the vehicle up. Sat in the lot for ten minutes with A/C on high, temp on low.
Went and got the service writer. Put your hand over drivers vent by the window, and
count to ten. Is your hand cold? No..... Put your hand over the drivers side vent near
the stack, and count to ten. Is your hand cold? No........Problem duplicated. I take it
back in AGAIN tomorrow. Wonder what kinda BS they come up with this time.

Hi, tried to answer your private message but system won't let me. Anyway, they replaced the compressor, evaporator, and a valve of some sort. Unit was then TOO cold. Found the evaporator was defective, replaced it again, and now it works great. I really don't know which item fixed it since they shotgunned it but it works perfectly now.

Had a strange thing happen after a long drive this week. Returned to the car to continue on and the AC was inoperative. None of the AC controls and temperature would appear on the display. Just a lot of hot air coming out of the ducts. Seat cooling would also not operate at that time. Waited about a half hour, restarted the car and all was ok....Also am wondering now if the air temp is now as cool as before. Have an appt to have it checked out. Anyone else experience anything like this??

Re: A/C Major Issue - Service Tag

I have a guage purchased at a hardware store that I used to use for house, forced air systems.....to measure the temperatures at the air vents. I have another that measures the volume of the air flow. Short money, and I can tell if something is going South with my SRX.

If you hand the service tech this temperature info going in, what it was and what it is, ambient temperatures basically the same, the argument about what is normal and what is not is mitigated. "The temperature is not what it was, and it is going up.....in the undesireable, hotter direction.....it is NOT normal for it to be going up, wouldn't you say?"

Hi there. Actually had a variant of this today. Short drive - about 10 miles. The AC worked fine (pushing the red button made it warmer and the blue made it colder - but who knows what temp it was changing to), but no AC controls showed up on display and the seat heater controls (not that we needed them - just pushed the buttons) didn't work. After having the car off for about 5 minutes (at the dealership waiting for a service advisor) - all worked normally again when started.

Don't "Sweat" it! Sorry..........These sleds are rolling computers, like most new cars. If that is a rare event, Don't let Dealer touch it. You just needed a re-boot. We will see more of this as cars continue going Hi-tech. I had a 2001 Chrysler that wouldn't shift out of 2 gear sometimes. Dealer says "tranny must be pulled". Since it only happened on Wed, when a black dog ran along side of me, I lived with it. Simply shut -down, wait 15 seconds, restart and good for many months......... Of course, if it happens every week......................

Mother nature took care of it. Fall came early to Michigan.........

Seriously, I had it in because the liftgate quit working.
They disconnected the battery to "wake up" the "sleeping" latch.
They downloaded software for the latch.
The A/C has worked much better since. Must have reset something when they disconnected the battery.
Still ain't totally right, but better.

I've read through 7 pages of posts...and don't see the answer I'm looking for. Is there a TSB for the a/c on a 2011 SRX? If so, does anyone know the number, or where I can read a copy? Thanks.
