    instrument panel illumination

So, aren't the instrument panel lights suppose to dim or brighten by turning the thumb wheel? The manual indicates so. Mine has no effect and noticed at dusk yesterday the instrument lights went dim which I thought was maybe due to some lighting sensor but when I tried to adjust them brighter nothing happened!

I believe that you have to turn and hold the wheel until desired dimming or brightness is achieved.

I think you push the wheel up or pull it down and hold it for a few seconds..you'll see the DIC dim or brighten.

When your headlamps come on, your IP lights dim. No matter what time of day.

With my headlights ON, I can dim or brighten my dash lights by using the turn wheel, up to brighten, down to dim.

    Re: instrument panel illumination

I did a search and this thread came up. On my 2011 SRX Premium, my Instrument panel lights will not adjust past a "mid" level. I can turn down, but stops at the mid mark during the day. Sometimes they'll brighten by itself as if to sense darkness. I checked the setup screen and stated Night Time, then Day Time, and then Auto with the same effect.

Is this a bug? I like the Instrument lights bright, not dimmed down.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jeff
