Well, I normally keep it locked (if unused for 5 minutes) to keep my personal data (files/emails) safe!! I hope I find a workaround but, Oh Well!! (anything for SRX)

By the way, does the "Hands Free" features (like making calls) work even after the 1 year "On Star" trial?

In fact, what are the features that won't work without "On Star"!!

    Thanking you in advance.

    2. I have a Sprint Touch Pro2 and the call does not go through when locked. So, I ended up removing the "locking"!

Yes, my "Plantronics Discover 925" bluetooth headset works just fine (can redial and use voice recognition) when the phone is locked!!
You're using the Touch Pro2? Then I have a question for you! I'm using the same device, except with AT&T service. I can make calls perfectly and use the voice commands to dial from the phone book. But I can't answer calls via bluetooth. If I receive a call while in the car and press "Answer" on the nav screen or steering wheel, I can't hear anyone through the car's speaker system or through the phone. If I just answer using the phone directly, the car keeps ringing and ringing. I must break the bluetooth connection in order to make it stop. It's weird to shut off the car, walk away from it and still hear it ringing.

How is your phone working with the bluetooth system? I found an HTC forum/wiki site and others were having similar issues. It drives me a bit nuts that I can't get it to work as I would like to use the bluetooth feature regularly. Also, I have a company issued phone and changing phones is a last resort.

    Thanks

By the way, I hadn't noticed the issue with the locked phone but will check it out tomorrow.

OK, that explains it. It sounds like you're talking about a "password" type of lock. My lock is only for the buttons and touch pad, so it's not actually locking any features. I don't need a code to unlock it. I just push the unlock button. If your phone has a password lock, it makes sense that it wouldn't work while locked, even with Bluetooth. That type of lock is designed to prevent "access" to your phone. That includes ALL access.

The SRX's handsfree features have nothing to do with OnStar. They are features of the SRX, not OnStar, so they will continue to work without an OnStar subscription. Only the OnStar specific features won't work. In other words, the buttons on the mirror won't work, but the handsfree button on the steering wheel will.

My phone is working great except the the phone should be in "unlocked" state for outgoing calls. No problems otherwise and the call quality is also amazing!!

Try deleting the device and adding it back!! When adding the device, make sure other devices (like a headset) are turned off and are not connected.

I checked out the "locked" issue while out and about this morning. My phone was locked and I used the voice commands to make an outgoing call with no problem. Use the "Hands-Free' / "Bluetooth" / "Voice" command. Then wait for the beep from the phone and say "Call XYXYX Mobile (or home, etc)". The phone will then either repeat the command for confirmation or make the call. But you already know this because you're using the system when unlocked. My long point was that it worked perfectly even though the phone was locked. The phone screen looks the same way it does when you answer a call when it's locked. Basic buttons to hang up/mute, etc are there but nothing else.

I am still having an issue with answering calls, though. I've deleted the device and added it back numerous times. I just can't figure out what (or if) I'm doing wrong. There was another member of this forum who posted the same issue on the CTS board. I agree that the call quality is great. But if I don't figure out the answering issue, I'm going to just work on getting another phone.

Well, I was trying "Hands Free / Call <Voice Tag>" as against "Hands Free / Bluetooth / Voice". May be the latter works fine when the phone is locked (will try that out later today)!!

    Nichelle,

When you deleted your phone and added it back, did it allow you to use the same phone name, or did it make you rename it? I deleted mine once because it permanently lost the BT connection. When I added it back, it told me a phone with that name already existed, so I had to change the name.

    Sube -

I had to change the name too. Later, while still trying to figure this out, I went back in and deleted the voice tags and stored it again. Unfortunately, it didn't solve my problem but I learned more about adding and deleting devices. I'll probably give it one more shot. From everything I've read the iPhone seems to work. It'll cost me to switch phones but that might be my next option.

When you say it didn't solve your problem, do you mean your original problem or using the same phone name? I guess what I'm asking is, once you deleted all of the voice tags were you able to use your original phone name?

It didn't solve the original problem. I was able to delete the first voice tag I used for the phone and then re-record the same name when I set it up again.

Well, you should try adding another bluetooth device (other than a Touch Pro2) and see is the problem persists to find the culprit (phone or navigation system). Good luck.

OK, that's what I needed to know.

    Thanks!

    Re: Voice Commands "Cheat Sheet"

I have a question about how to press #'s on a menu system phone call. When I call my answer service and it wants me to type in my phone number how do I do it with voice command?
