    Factory 20" CHROME Wheels??

Are the wheels in this Option (@ +$250) an actual chrome plated aluminum wheel... or are these the chromed Plastic Cover versions?

(@ $250 per set of 4, this seems too cheap to be the real deal?)

Chrome-Tech (plastic covered). Had similar ones on a Grand Am years ago and they hold up nicely. Better than the real thing. I know it sounds cheap for a Caddy, but they're pretty nice nonetheless

First you paying for the jump from 18's to 20's which is included in the price of the vehicle.
Then your paying for $250 for chrome.

Are you saying there is a layer of plastic over the chrome? I`ve never heard of that before

    Re: Factory 20" CHROME Wheels??

They are a chrome cover permanently bonded to an aluminum alloy wheel (rim). They are "not" chrome plated plastic. All you have to do is tap them and you can tell they are real metal, not plastic.

The chrome wheels are "Cheap, Cheap, Cheap" GM/Cadillac I think could have done much better!!!!!You are paying $250.00 for nothing. The cast alloy regular wheel is much better IMO.....

Uhhh, nice amount of weight savings = lower rolling resistance = better fuel economy.
    They're there for a reason.

Thanks Sube for your help in this matter. I`m a newcomer here but it did`nt take long to figure out you`re the go to guy around here. Thanks as well to all the other posters as well for helping each other out as we deal with issues concerning our SRXs. Mine is still over a month away but I`m eagerly looking forward to taking ownership of it

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, I respectfully disagree. Chrome wheels are purely for aesthetics. This design allows those not wanting to pay an additional $2,000 for traditional chrome wheels, to enjoy the same look. Haven't had anybody yet say, "Man, I love those chrome wheels. Oh, they're only "Chrome-Tech". Never mind, now I don't like them." Personally, I was thrilled to death when I found out I could get the look of chrome wheels for only $250 extra.

I originally planned on getting the 20" alloy wheels. But when I saw them on the car, something just didn't look right. My wife finally pointed it out to me. The dull, satin finish of standard alloy wheels clashes with the shinny chrome accents on the car. Look at the window trim, door handles and side turn signal plate. All are either highly polished aluminum or chrome. The chrome tech wheels accent these areas. Just my 2 cents, for whatever it's worth.

Not trying to change anyone's mind here. We can agree to disagree.

The Chrome wheels are gorgeous and they are very solid metal.

I still love the chrome on my black performance. Definitely worth the $250 upgrade.

To add to the small but growing choir, I think the chrome wheels look fantastic. With the darker Imperial Blue, they really pop with the rest of the chrome trim. Of course I'm a bit biased because each day I grow to love this car more and more.

My service manager told me that they are basicly a crome plated plastic hubcap glued on to the rim. They look nice and I hope they last for a long time
