How do I get the weather forecast to show up on my navigation system? Does the weather and traffic alert work automatically?

I transferred over the remaining balance of XM and Onstar from my old 2008 CTS that I traded in for my SRX. It went pretty smooth. You guys are talking about the screen that pops up and you can either go to weather or HVAC? Pretty cool feature as long as it has your area's weather forecast. Mine was set at Deleware or something crazy like that considering I'm in Connecticut....LOL! All works fine now.

dsy@cox.net,

I also traded in my 2008 CTS for an SRX. Like the
SRX better. How 'bout you?

Thanks guys--any word on how the traffic alerts or detours work when you have the navigation going?
It works rather well, though with some precautions.

There have been many times, while driving with nav,
that I get a voice announcement and map warning that
there is a traffic incident ahead.

I remember on my CTS this came up and asked if I
wanted to detour. I was minutes away from crossing
over to NJ via the George Washington Bridge.

Mistakingly, I told the NAV to detour and it put
me on the West Side Highway and tripled my time
getting home.

The traffic/detour function is pretty cool, but be
damn sure that the route it is suggesting does not
put you more out of the way time wise than you
would be sitting in traffic.

You can also, at any time, check traffic conditions
along your route with the NAV.

I also believe I got voice weather warnings
as well from time to time.
