    Dangling Gas Cap

First, I was quite surprised to find that the gas cap cover does not lock and have a remote latch release. My old 2001 Infiniti had that.

Second, once I got over that, I was further surprised to find that the gas cap does not have a holder on the inside of the cover. Are you supposed to just let the gas cap dangle on the side of the car while you fill up.

Don't get me wrong, I love my new SRX, it's just I am kinda surprised that a high-end car is missing something that seems so basic.

I'm going assume that I've overlooked something and that you enlighted posters on here are going to correct me.

There is a very small hook near the top of the cover. If you put the rubber connector in that hook the gas cap won't lay down on the fender. It just sort of "dangles".

    But it is pi##-poor design.

Now if only some 3rd party vendor would make an attachment for the inside of the gas cap cover that you can just slide the neck of the cap into we'd be all set.

    Hint, hint, you enterprising types.

How about a strip of double-sided velcro secured inside the gas cap door....problem is, where on the gas cap would you stick the other piece....i'll have to get back with you on this

My 2007 Town Car has nothing to hook on so I have to place the nozzle and then lay the cap on top of the nozzle. I actually removed the tether on my '04 TC and laid the cap on top of the pump. THAT is a piss poor design.

The Caddy has a loop and while it may not be the swankiest design, it keeps your fender gas free. Good enough for me...
