    Auto door lock?

Since I did not opt for the PREMIUM COLLECTION
on my new SRX I gave up the really neat keyless
entry that I enjoyed on my 2008 CTS.

However, I'm having problems getting the auto
    door lock to work.

If I am figuring this correctly, there is a setting
in the Vehicle CONFIG menu (Nav Screen) that I
can select AUTO DOOR LOCK. The door should
lock 5 seconds after I close my drivers door and
    walk away from the vehicle.

....but that is not happening. I have to hit the
lock on the key fob instead.

Do I have a abnormality here or am I doing
something wrong or expecting something to
    happen that won't?

    Happy Holidays!

The doors must be locked with the power lock switch on the instrument panel (page 1-11). You should then hear three chimes. All doors should lock five seconds after the last door is closed.

    Sube,

Not sure I am getting this.

So, I turn off the car and I hit the door LOCK
button on the central console beneath the NAV
    screen.

That locks all the doors including the front
even before I get out of it.

Even if I open the driver door and then hit
the lock button, close the door and walk
away, the door does not lock automatically
    within a few seconds.

    Must be doing something wrong.

Ok, I think I figured this out. The Delayed Locking Feature is only available if "Unlocked Door Anti-Lockout" is disabled (page 1-11). I think you have to hit the lock button on the dash "before" you open the driver's door. You should hear three chimes to let you know the Delayed Locking Feature has been activated. Then, all doors should lock five seconds after the last door is closed.

Page 4-44 does not say you have to hit the lock button on the dash first, but page 1-11 does. Try it both ways to see which way works.

You are correct above & should work that way, mine does.
Did u go in to Config on dash & check off Power Door Locks.
Then check off "Delayed Door Locks" and you should be set.
Hit lock button on dash after you open the drivers door.

    Barry,

    Just to confirm....

    In config settings:

Power door locks OFF (no checkmark)
Delayed door locks OFF (no checkmark)

    Open driver door to exit
Push the door lock button on the config panel
Chimes will be heard indicating delayed lock mode
Close door, walk away from vehicle, doors will auto lock.

    Re: Auto door lock?

Okay, put a CHECK next to the Delayed Door lock
    UNCHECK the power door locks.

Thank you. Will try it later today.
