Cadillac SRX Second Generation Forum - 2010+ Discussion, Taking the plunge! in Cadillac SRX Forums; After extensive research, test drives, and information on this forum, we decided to take the plunge and buy a 2010 ...
OK gang looking at a new option. The dealer quoted me an "invoice" price... but these days who the heck knows what exactly is invoice (e.g. supplier price point, inflated kick backs, holdbacks, dealer incentives, regional advertising fee, etc....).
I have on order a 2010 SRX, FWD, Luxury collection, navi/bose option. The dealer tells me that invoice is 38,660, for a sales price to me of 39,160. That seemed a bit high to be, at least when I compare it to Edmunds which shows invoice to be 37,813, $800 less than my dealer.
I checked out www.truecar.com, an interesting site that purports to be based on actual sales data. This site says invoice is 38,204 but the actual dealer price is 37,025. The site says the average price for this car is 38,264. This makes my "order a car for $500 over invoice" look like a melon of a deal.
The dealer has the same car but in AWD on the lot, and after some negotiation, has offered to sell to me at $40,297.
Edmunds say invoice is 40,171 and a good price is 41,462. True car says invoice is 40,739 and the average price is 40,856.
Goodness... all of this data brought to you by the Internet. So as it stands right now I am thinking to move on the AWD version... Hope to close down on this tomorrow. Any advice would be most appreciated!
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this,
Did you check http://www.kbb.com/new-cars/cadillac/srx/2010? There, you can find the dealer invoice price for each specific option. On the next page select "Price With Options". This is the site I used. Took the printout with me when I bought my SRX.
