    Re: GMC Terrain

I test drove the Terrain & wanted to buy it.
Dealer I went to wanted to low ball me $6500 on my trade.
Cadillac gave me what I wanted & so I bought the SRX & glad I did!
Terrain is a real nice car & drives just beautiful. Especially for the $$.

    Re: GMC Terrain

Some friends of ours have a Terrain on order. They had to special order it to get the heated cloth seats. I believe our local GMC Cadillac dealer is on the closing list, so they had to go to an out-of-town dealer.

I saw terrain and equinox demos, there's no way to compare them with SRX, they're not on the same level.

    Re: GMC Terrain

I'm sure it's very nice, but so BOXY. It's trying to look like a mini H3 or something. The Equinox is much better looking, IMO...but still not as sexy as the SRXy.

    Re: GMC Terrain

The Terrain is nice, but it looks too much like a mini Acadia (from the side profile and rear anyway). Nothing beats an SRX though!

    Re: GMC Terrain

SRX is best looking of the bunch IMO.

My only dislike is the front fender vent. Cadillac , PLEASE stop with the vents. They were cool once, but now that Ford Focus', entry level Chevy compacts, etc have them, they cheapen the look. If I buy my Lade at lease end, I am going to have the plastic chrome vents painted body color to blend in better.

    Re: GMC Terrain

I'm not a fan of the Escalade side vents, but these on the SRX don't bother me. I guess because the sidemarker/blinker light is incorporated.

I tend to agree with Todd on the side vents / ports. I guess that Buicks sold so well that all automakers had to pick up on that styling cue. Let's leave them to Buick - and only on legit 4-hole Buicks with a V8.

Actually the original "side vents" were called Gills by GM, and used on the 53 Corvette, and continue to today; with some, like on the ZR1, used to cool brakes!

    Re: GMC Terrain

I'm not really a fan of the Terrain either. Those fender flares and that grill, ugh. Srx and equinox are both much better looking imo. The SRX is great. I really like that one. We've sold quite a few even with a limited supply.

    Re: GMC Terrain

I would assume that the Terrain would appeal to people that are already in the GMC fold. A more (truck-like clientele as it were) looking for a crossover that fits their personallity; not wrong, just different. So you've got the Terrain, the Vue, the Equinox and of course the SRX; each 'the same only different'. With the demise of the Vue the three remaining will suffice (each aiming for a different demographic).
