Um, we were talking about the SRX v. RX...

While some have called the SRX a gussied up Equinox, is there a Toyota version of the RX?

I'm leery of buying another "badge engineered" luxury car. My MKZ is too much like a Fusion. I liked the fact that my old SRX and CTS were built on a Cadillac-only platform.

    .
    You're right, sorry.

I think the Highlander must share some main components with the RX, but not necessarily body panels.

Correct. And, they both ride on the Camry chasis.

The RX is a hybrid of Camry and Highlander pieces. The SRX shares some core components with the Equinox, but has different dimensions, wheelbase, and completely unique interior/exterior parts.

No one in recent memory does badge engineering as poorly as Ford/Lincoln.

    Lexus/Toyota Unexpected Acceleration!!!

Before you even "think" about buying a Lexus RX350, you must view the entire video below. The origin of that sudden unexpected acceleration problem that has killed several people IS NOT related to the floor mats. It is still being investigated. To date, the cause is still undetermined. What's really absurd is that Toyota is actually trying to blame it on "operator error". Watch this video. It's pretty shocking.

Makes the decision to buy an SRX over the RX350 that much easier.

Thanks Sube! I had/have a hard time with this floormat BS explanation. Do they think we are little kids who will believe anything? I looked at an RX350 recently, but any thoughts of getting a Lexus are definitely in the past now. This thing is really bad news.

Yeah, I lost all respect for Toyota after this. Even though I never liked the RX350 myself, I did think Toyota had a pretty decent track record for reliability. Not anymore.
