OUCH! It hurts me just looking at it. Hope you get it fixed and back on the road asap, or at least get a cool rental. I didn't know they made plastic wrap specifically for crashes. "Crash Wrap" lol.

The $6000 estimate is not close to what it will finally cost. Many of the prices for parts are not yet available to the estimators.

Repair parts are not easy to get for SRX's. This is the 4th one that has been in an accident in my part of Connecticut. Some of them are still waiting for parts. They told me two weeks minimum for delivery.

I rented a GMC Envoy. NOOO comparison. I may exchange it for something else.

I feel your pain. My wife and I would be heartbroken. I know it's difficult to be thankful that you guys were not injured, when your brand new Caddy was damaged so badly, but 'ya know it coulda been worse. Be hopeful, they may just do a great job repairing it, and you may be so satisfied that you do decide to buy it later on. You know in a way it's good you leased it. It's THEIR car that they are fixing! Last April when I drove home my new Town Car Limited I was so scared, so timid in driving her, that I almost messed up! I guess it's always worse when it's brandy new. Have faith.

Re: I should have stayed home.

When i saw the first pic I thought, "not too bad."
When i saw the second pic i realized the rear quarter had been tweaked by the back door.

I always hate to see a rear quarter damaged, because it is not like a fender or a door where you replace it and paint it and it is hard to tell if there was an accident.

Here is a pic of damage to my Camaro's rear quarter. $830 for this because there is no place for them to stop painting. Roof has to be painted as does the left quarter.

    So $6,000 doesn't seem unreasonable.

Well, it took 6 weeks and $13,000 to fix, but I finally got it back today.

The body shop gets an A+. The paint work is perfect, and the body panels line up perfectly. Getting parts from Cadillac was ridiculous. There just aren't many available. The hardest part to get was the XM reciever. It's located in the right rear quarter panel and was crushed. I'm waiting for it to be activated now.

It felt like picking up a new car. I drove it around a little, now there's almost 300 miles on it.

Glad to hear your baby is home. Hope you get some nice spring weather to drive it around. All the best . . .
