    Timing chain problem again

I think my timing chain is bad again after a Trip to Chicago.I was driving when i tried to pass a big truck and I noticed just my RPMs went up but not speed!, so I let go of the gas pedal and tried one more time and it worked. But after driving a few hours more in Chicago, the engine lost a lot of power and the Check engine light came on.I took it to get an oil change and get the codes read and this codes came up:"P0008, P0009, P0016, P0017, P0018 and P0019".
Does anybody know a good mechanic or Dealer in Houston that can fix it for a good price? I just replaced the timing chains last year!!😧

    Re: Timing chain problem again

    From the SM-
The presence of DTCs P0008 and P0009 along with P0016, P0017, P0018, and P0019 indicates a possible condition with the primary timing chain and the alignment between both intermediate sprockets and the crankshaft. Or, the crankshaft reluctor wheel has moved and is no longer referenced to top dead center (TDC).
So there's a second possibility (reluctor wheel) but in any case it involves opening things up.

    Re: Timing chain problem again

If it was warranty coverage the first time it should be again. I was told the replacement vendor ALSO supplied a weak chain and a third vendor finally got it right. I wonder how many of those second generation replacement chains are still in dealer parts warehouses.

I am seriously thinking about fixing this truck and trade it for a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8!, It was my first choice in the first place.

These first gen LY7 3.6L are JUNK engines!! It is a coin toss as to whether you will get a good one or a bad one.

So finally the engine gave up and had to replace it.It cost me $2600 total with installation.I hope this one last longer since only has about 50k miles, the previous one already had 138k.I just have a question, Do this 3.6l engines have the same horsepower on the SRX and the STS? Because the mechanic got me this new engine off an STS and it feels more power at high rpms than at low rpms like the old one.
