    My 10th Anniversary

My SRX V6 AWD just turned 10. It was an early build from Oct 2003.
(I've owned it since 2008 when I purchased it with 16,000 miles)

Total miles is now 56,000 (we have 4 vehicles and sort of use them for specific purposes).

    Good:
Original brakes (still with decent pad thickness left)
Original tires (use snows in winter so probably about 40,000 on OEM) will need to replace in spring
    Runs and rides really well
Consumes about 1 quart of oil between changes (I got that one good engine!!)
Paint and interior have held up very well
Excellent fuel econ for weight and awd

    Complaints:
3rd set of cats (GM's nickel - worried about when it isn't)
Rear window washer plugged up, nozzle had to be replaced
    Front strut blew out
Power steering leak (simple o-ring fix)
    3rd battery (no big deal)
Uncountable number of DRL bulb changes

My intent is to milk another 5-6 years out of it, still looks good on the road relative to most new vehicles.

Thanks to all the contributors on here, I've definitely received a lot of good info and help!

    Re: My 10th Anniversary

Great. Good report on a 10 year old vehicle.

My 2006 V-8 RWD is back in the shop at 36,000 miles with the infamous (for this vehicle( rear-end whine). New Drive Shaft, Totally rebuilt Differential, Rear Axle Seal replaced and the whine is still there.

I have yet to hear of a rear end whine, is it that common?

    Re: My 10th Anniversary

    Apparently not a common thing.
After a complete rebuild it is still there.
Was told yesterday they will likely put in a new one. Hope so.
    Otherwise I love the car.
