Hi all, I just had all 4 wheels refinished entirely of Metallic Silver and 3 coats of clear. Connecticut road salt really started to corrode these wheels. The factory wheels have the pockets painted silver and the face aluminum and clear-cote. The corrosion starts on the clear-cote face and migrates out. Notice no corrosion in the silver pockets. Had all 4 done for less than the cost of 1 new factory wheel and guaranteed for as long as I own the car. I will not have to worry about these wheels again.
Could they have been Powder Coated instead of painted ?
I am sure I could have had them Powder Coated but that would have been more money. I also considered Chrome, maybe a different color, 2 tone. Thought about it but ended up with all Metallic Silver and Clear Cote. Easier to keep clean this way. $100 a wheel had all 4 done. My pictures really do not show how they shine in the sun, the Metallic paint and Clear shine like the rest of my Black SRX. The wheels really came out better than I thought they would. Even repaired the minor curb rash I did on the pass front because I have the staggered tire set up and the rim sticks out on the fronts.

Funny you mentioned that, I was thinking of that also. So I ended up just leaving the SRX there for 2 days and they removed, refinished, balanced, installed. all for $100 a wheel. I could not believe this deal. refinishing was something I never considered. Glad I did.
I typically paint the hats of my rotor with self-eching primer and a couple coats of high temp silver to avoid the rusting. The silver color tends to better match the rotor - brake pad surface making it all look clean behind the wheel. Better yet, get rotors that are zinc coated, I prefer silver vs gold coating zinc.
