    Unhappy 2005 srx

Inside rear wall panels crack loudly when angling up or down a ramp or driveway. Also when hitting some bumps in the road. Very annoying. All panels have been reset by a body shop to ensure all clips are in place. Cracking continues......anyone have a suggestion? Thank you

This sounds like excessive flex of the uni-body structure, not common or good. Maybe a frame shop could find the cause.

One thing to try is opening the lift gate and moving the panels by hand or trying to slide them back and forth. There should be little if any movement at all. Perhaps all the clips are present, but maybe not all are seated correctly. Failing that, I would remove the panels and have a close look to make sure that they are reseated properly.

I am noticing a sound like that on my srx. I have figured it's the sunroof mounting brackets. The rubber mounting feet have fallen off and are clunking against the frame when driving around.

That doesn't sound good or safe at all.

I know, but I refuse to pay almost £200 per side for four little rubber shoes to stop it.

Thinking of other methods like running a strip of plastic along the length of the opening where they glide along might work.

From what I have read these sunroofs have exploded in a few cases, I feel it's the resonance caused by driving down certain road surfaces, and the fact the the rubber slider shoe thingys have fallen off.
it's a shame cadillac do not sell the rubber shoes on their own as it's such an easy fix.

Been onto my local(ish) dealer and even the full brackets are not available in Europe.
I'll get some whilst I am in Florida next month. There must be a part number just for the shoes alone.

Is the noise coming from the Ultra-View?

Sounds like it. It's hard to pinpoint as I am relying on my kids to tell me where it's coming from when I'm driving. I know I can push the glass up from inside and it will drop back down so assuming it's the play now the rubber feet have fallen off.

The Ultra View will make strange noises when going over bumps. Mine does it every once and a while. Not enough to annoy me yet.

$800 to repair cracking ---- seems clips were broken, had to be ordered so it was all shop labour. Don't have those skills.

latest problem of which there have been many is "service stability system' that appears frequently. Had it examined by a certified warranty provider and they have isolated the problem to a sensor. Require the vehicle in when the notice comes up on the display for assurance as to the sensor. If it is as speculated by service provider, cost of sensor is $600.00 and the install is $300.00......think I will dispose of this vehicle fast!!!!
