Re: 3rd row seat will not go up

Had to start the truck to open rear lift gate, lift gate works as it should now, looked at all the fuses in rear passenger(left hand side fuse 10 amp)no DTC
Now my air bag light is on and service air bag on DIC
Could all the modules need relearning after being out of power for so long. have not used the truck since taking the battery out and during battery problems before, so in all maybe 3 weeks since I drove it longer then 10 mins.
The manual states The vehicle cannot have a low battery. I currently am charging the new battery to its full charge, it has not reached full charge yet, it flashing on 3/4 full charge, been that way for about an hr so I will let it charge till tomorrow afternoon. But it should still work at 3/4 charge?

    fuses in green OK

Sometimes I had to mess with the button in the back area and hold them longer than usual.

Re: 3rd row seat will not go up

Mine does the 3 chime thing when the plastic tab is not in the slot all the way after flipping the carpeted panel up. Maybe the safety switch is sticking?

Re: 3rd row seat will not go up

Thanks I will try it some more tomorrow, but I did try wiggling it around and pressing, have to look with a light to see if there is something to press, but I would of thought that if there was a safety switch it would show in the schematics

I really do not think there is any safety switch in there. I think its just to hold the flap in place

    ----------

the folding seat may be in an unknown state and out of calibration with the RSM. Therefore, the RSM must be calibrated before the folding seat system will operate. Refer to Power Folding Seat Calibration . To do this requires the stealer, I think they have to look for DTC on this. UFFF they will have no clue here what to look for, or even know how to use the calibration, I may have to print out how to. problem is its my dime while they scratch their ass, and at over 200 dollars an hr!!!!results or not!
Just when I thought I got the parasitic draw figured out and sell with torn suspension air bags, now I have to sell with non functional 3 row, gets better and better

Re: 3rd row seat will not go up

Before folding or unfolding the third row seat, all of the
    following conditions must be met:
    • The liftgate or passenger’s side rear door must
    be open.
    • The unlock button on either the remote keyless entry
transmitter or the door must be pressed three times
to enable the rear seat for two minutes, or the ignition
must be in ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY.
    • The vehicle must be in PARK (P).
    • The vehicle cannot have a low battery.
After the seat is folded, fold the panel on the seat
    forward flat on the floor.
If the seat’s path is blocked it will stop and back away.
Press the button again to return the seat to its previous
    position.
Before returning the third row seat to the passenger
seating position, the panel must be folded back upon
itself. Press and hold one of the power folding seat
buttons and the seat will unfold into the seating position.
If the seat is not unfolded fully into the seating position,
a chime will sound when the vehicle is shifted out of
PARK (P). This indicates that the seat is not ready
    for a passenger.

low battery voltage perhaps? or the vehicle isn't recognizing the open hatch or rear passenger door?

Re: 3rd row seat will not go up

Well I get a lift gate open on my DIC, for some reason its not recognizing the 3x unlock, I can hear the locks open 3x. Battery is new and fully charged. If it was not recognizing the gate open, I would not get the chimes when pressing the unfold button, if the gate is closed the buttons are inoperative, no chimes, no function, the same goes for if its in drive.

For those who think there is a safety switch in the folding latch (there is none)
