    R & R Fuel Pump

My son has a 2004 V6 with a bad pump. Any ideas on labor time to
    R&R pump?
Also is this a job an average shade tree mechanic can do?

Side shops run around $500+ dealer will be way higher. They aren't too difficult if you are comfortable enough with your skills definitely go for it. Haven't done one on mine yet but looked under just now looks typical some hoses connectors couple straps etc a good jack with a piece of plywood to support the tank hopefully your low on gas a full tank is fun to say the least

    Re: R & R Fuel Pump

Before you start this, PM me for a PDF to remove tank. Can be done by competent back yard mechanic but there is a lot involved including dropping rear suspension.

Hi Glake89, can you send me this PDF as I was under car yet again repairing rear drive shaft problem, while wife was switching key on to put in neutral I was able to hear my pump making unfavorable rattling noises. Thanks, Mike......04 AWD V8 SRX

    Re: R & R Fuel Pump

Before you start this, check fuel pressure, you may not need a new pump. Second, don't let fuel get below 1/4 tank as pump uses fuel for cooling, unless you're going to replace the pump. Does your car have the rear air shocks? It may be the compressor you're hearing. Anyway, you need to PM me your email for any PDF.
