    oil change help please

    IMG_0053.JPG

I think i must be going mad , trying to change the oil but something is telling me somethings not quite right.
I have been changing oil on my cars for the best part of 30 years but not seen the underside like the srx, wheres the oil pan , im used to a great big black sump.

oil filter , not a problem , i can see it at the top on the side.

but the oil drain bolt. i think i found it , but researching not 100% and wondering if the UK models are slightly different to the US ones.

some posts say this is correct , but some say not this one.

so can someone tell me if i am looking in the correct place , i think i am but like i said , having a brain lapse and not sure.

also what type of oil is more suited as my manual does not seem to specify i know its 5w-30 , but fully synthetic or semi-synthetic.

    any help very gratefully received.

What year is the car? My srx used to say Mobil 1 full synthetic right on the oil fill cap

    Re: oil change help please

If this is your first oil change some have found the oil filter cap to be difficult to unloosen. I recall it takes a 24 mm socket.... 15/16" also works and the torque spec is 18 lb-ft.
My domestic manual shows to use oil meeting GM4718M specs and having the starburst symbol on the container. I'm not aware of any non-synthetic oil meeting this spec.

    Re: oil change help please

I dropped my Talon off at the local speed shop to change the transaxle, t-case and rear diff fluid change to RedLine, anyway I get a call about an hour later asking me what kind of oil I use in the engine lol

    It happens to the best....
