TMC not working with the RDS GPS NAV option

In France the TMC on the na system with GPS can not be activated. Do the european SRX owners with the nav option have the same problem in other countries.

TMC = Traffic Messenger Channel. Sometimes Traffic important messages overrides the current radio station to prevent from problems on the road on which we are. Unfortunately i confirm that tmc is not working on my Srx bose nav neither. As a big road eater i feel really frustrated.

If you do a search, I recall a couple of other guys saying that it didn't work in France. I also think it did work in Holland, but not in Germany?? Or something like that. Anyway, search and you might find out more.

yeah, i get it in geneva, so i dont think i hav a problem, i have the bose nav system also...

can european customers indicate how they activate the tmc in the menu rds-tmc. in france the dealers do not know. It seems some tmc work in europe and maybe on french autoroutes ?

It is not forbidden in France to modify the GPS when driving then i asked cadillac europe to provide the solution and asked also for the TMC to work properly. I cross the fingers !

I bought my srx at jean charles in paris a well known cadillac corvette dealer. They have tried to help but for the moment no result.

FOR INFORMATION. I THINK IF MOST CUSTOMERS ASK FOR TMC THEY WILL CHANGE ATTITUDE.

Votre réponse n'est pas satisfaisante. Initialement vous m'avez invité à prendre contact avec le SAV cf mails précédents.Cette fonction marche dans d'autres pays d'europe par exemple en Belgique.

"Bonjour, ici en Belgique nous avons un système radio spécial pour l'option GPS et DVD, je ne sais si cela joue mais dans ma SRX le RDS fonctionne parfaitement." Comme en témoigne ce possesseur belge d'un SRX.

Vous devez faire des efforts pour vos clients qui vous ont fait confiance sinon votre clintèle va disparaitre lors du renouvellement des SRX pour une Escalade par exemple.

Il semble que vous ne voulez pas payer une redevance en france aupres de V- traffic. Volvo offre maintenant ce service dans le XC 90 avec une mise a jour du système de navigation GPS RDS TMC. Qu'en pensez vous ?

Its unacceptable. All non functionnal devices should have been described as such prior the buying. With such an answer i understand we are not dear customers but ****ing end users. Now i'm conviced the 2005 SRX was my 1st and will be my last US car. I'll go back to BMW where customers have a red carpet and by the way i'll will have more sexy vibrations with an M3.

While my stay at GErmany, The TMC worked fine. It displayed all the traffic and accidental issues on my screen. Im surprised it doesn't work in FRance

I wrote to cadillac europe asking them the way to unlock the GPS when i drive (as it is allowed in France), asking also to unlock the TMC for France (as it seems they forgot to pay the V-Traffic), and also solve 2 problems with the back seat DVD. (TV is ok in front Screen and very bad in back screen, and when a DVD is inserted in Front DVD, the back screen show it in NTSC (Never the same color ) instead of PAL.
I GOT an answer : they asked me to provide all details about my SRX.
Now, i'm just waiting for their answer.
