If other european owners have similar experiences let us know and we will try a group mailing to push cadillac europe to give correct answers to legitimate customer unsatisfaction.

yeap, i live in geneva, my tmc dont work here but it did in germany, and i also cant change nav instructions while driving...

Correct; I am living in Holland and the TMC is not working overhere!!!!
I already wrote several emails to cadillac europe, but no reaction, accept they are working on it!!!!

LOL how could they mess up like that ? TV standards are different between continents and having the back screens play in NTSC instead of PAL is a serious bug that shows a huge lack of testing. Incredible for such a car/company...

we should keep asking european cadillac owners to report the TMC of RDS not working at the end cadillac europe will have to do something about it.

I have also the same problem with my CTS. I have contacted Cadillac Europ, Cadillac France and my dealer and I get the same answer, it doesn't work, tough luck... I agree that we pay for a vehicle with working specs and the Cadillac answer is unacceptable. I also have problems with my GPS (which is not accurate although the module has been completely changed by Cadillac) and my interior mirror which does not react to rear headlamps (only darkens when someone overtakes me !! Cadillac have changed the mirror 3 times to no avail !). This is ridiculous after 1 1/2 years, no solution. The other thing on the CTS is that the DVD only works with US DVDs. I bought the car in France and would expect equipments one pays for to function over here.

If my understanding is correct : each time we have a problem because of non european test by Cadillac, the only one answer we get from cadillac is : go to hell, f...ing end-user !
I.E : my last Dic msg was : stability problem : adillac people answer is : keep on like this as we dont know what to do. For a car at 60 000 euros, (78000 dollars) i cannot accept anymore.
Because of many months idle complaints with such treatment, i suggest to make an association against Cadillac Europe and to complain thru attorneys with publication in car magazines. I'll contact an attorney for a complaint in European court of justice and will ask him the cost of such a complaint. As soon as i will know i will tell you.
I worked in States in the past. The only thing they understand is : shoot and forget !

I have the same problem in Holland. After talking to the mechanic at my dealer's I got this explanation:

Cadillac tested the TMC for Europe only in Germany. So it works there. But they didn't realise that the TMC signal is not the same throughout Europe. Therefore It doesn't work in France, Holland etc. The newer models have the problem corrected, but at the moment there is no solution (software update) for the older models. The more people complain, the more hope we have of this problem being corected. Let's convince Cadillac that Europe is more than just "abroad" .

add me to the list ! I live in France, and the only traffic messages I get are those sent by FIP on the radio (lol). The same problem too about DVD player wich won't read any DVD film... the only one I red was... a zone 1 image test patterns DVD... HAHAHA ! Useless !
If I can help or participate on any massive report to Cadillac Europe, just tell me... I'll be there !

Hi,

I have talked to someone at Cadillac-Europe (who are in the same building as my dealer) and he told me that the problem is a hardware problem that cannot be corrected through a firmware update, which means: tough luck!

End of story???

Not End... beginning : identification of the bad part for europe, and massive exchange (or less, better price possible to do so...) from Cadillac Europe. The problem was not indicated at the moment of the order.

OK. Since I am closest to Cadillac Europe I will try to convince them to take action. I would like to ask anyone with this problem to mail me at srx.tmc-AT-xs4all.nl and I will present Cadillac Europe with the combined request to correct this problem.

I planned to travel from France to Austria. My GPS is unable to locate the VIENNA Capital which seem to be unknow in the Cadillac Gps DVD ! Is it the same for all of you ?
