    tpms reset

I can't get tpms to reset the positions using the method in the manual on my 07. Last time I needed it reset after replacing battery I had the same problem. . Waited until I had to go to the dealer and they took care of it..

Now i just rotated tires and so positions are all wrong... Any advice how I can get it reset cheap/free? Is there a cheap tool I can buy? Thanks all.. happy sunday

    Re: tpms reset

I think tire stores, like Discount or Belle will do it for you.

Negative. . Neither autozone or advanced had any clue about tpms reset.. just spent another 45 min trying the manual relearn procedure, got it to take 2 tires on the 3rd try, but timed out and couldn't get it to work again.. hopefully the dealer will help me relearn the positions tomorrow when I drop by... so annoying that the procedure didnt work. Atleast I figured out these new WaWa stations have free digital air systems.

Autozone and Advanced aren't tire stores. Try a real tire store.

Wonder if it's a software issue with the TPMS on the 07's. Mine does the same thing. Will reset 2 tires but hiccups on the 3rd. The displays then shows all dashes. As glake says.... take it to a real tire store. Since they are rotating tires routinely a reset tool is a requirement. We've got Discount tires stores in AZ and I've bought a couple sets in recent years so no charge. Don't know what a walk-in would be charged if anything.
Might even check out if the dealer would charge... also they could see if there's any updates for the problem.

Dealership reset them for me today. . Though he did them out of order and when I told him so he said it would fix itself.. (yea right thanks a lot).

Anyone know if the tpms reset magnets sold on ebay work on SRX? They say Cadillac in the description, just not sure.

    Re: tpms reset

Get the stealer to do it right! Did you pay? It could be your receiver is going out. They are all on the same frequency, so rotating tires should not make a difference, or your TPMS valve/s in the tire/s are going out, but this is a nice option but one you can do without unless you have extra cash to do it.
I have had the car sit for a few weeks and while the TPMS worked around town at slower speeds, it went out on me yesterday driving to Holland at high speed, the icon went on in the panel an all tire pressures were ---, till I reached my destination, turned off the car, got back in a couple hours later an all was normal even driving back to Belgium and still is.

    Re: tpms reset

I didn't pay, they did it as a courtesy, all 4 are working fine, just a little slow to pair I think, doesn't go well with an impatient tech. Since I purchased my tires there I think they should do that courtesy. I don't think they were too fond of me coming by for just that courtesy service, since they can tell I am no longer coming for their oil, brakes, or other DIY'able services. I guess I'll drop the $70 on the tool to do it myself soon.
