SRX V92 Trailering Option - Wiring Harness Location.

    All,

I have an '07 SRX4 and have exported it to South Korea. I am having a very difficult time passing inspections due to local regulations requiring "amber" turn signals. To repace both taillights with the export (amber) version, will cost me about $2k. My thought was to temporarily add exterior amber turn signals via this wiring to pass inspection. However, I am not sure if this is possible, or if I need the additional wiring harness (P/N: 12499575). Also, need to know the location of the V92 wiring at the rear of the vehicle.

Any information that this forum could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Tim

Not sure how much this will help. I checked the "trailer wiring" setup on my 07 a few years ago. It appears the plug where you insert the GM wiring harness is above the left-rear tailpipe hanger. On mine it's the only plug in that vicinity. Others that actually have installed the GM harness can verify this is the correct location.

There were 4 wires associated with the trailer wiring. Yellow = left hand, Dk Green = right hand, Brn = park and Blk = ground. I recall if you check the plug you'll see this color comb on one side of the plug but not the other. You could try probing these wires to see if the proper signal is present. HOWEVER it appears there are feed from the right-rear fuse panel accessible by removing the carpet in front of the second row seat. There is spaces for spare relays for this circuit. You may not have them present. I just don't know if they (the relays) are standard with the V92 option. My guess is yes.
Any case worth checking if you have a meter or test lamp. The GM wiring harness just makes a neater setup.

Re: SRX V92 Trailering Option - Wiring Harness Location.

Thank you n7don_srx. I will check this.

I am so stressed about this situation, as I now have a vehicle here that I cannot drive unless is passes inspection.

As a plan "b" I may have to change the whole tail light assembly for both sides to the export version with clear lens and both red and amber LEDs. Anyone out there know of an inexpensive source for these?

    Regards,
    Tim
