Loud clunk in suspension during slow left turns

Now that the weather has warmed up, my SRX has developed a clunking /creaking sound when making slow speed right (not left) turns while the brakes are applied. Today it did it again, when I backed up there was a pretty loud clunk almost as if steering is binding somehow. The sounds come from the left front but not near the wheel. There are no noises during normal driving, not even when going over bumps. Any ideas what this could be?

Your right turn reverse clunker has come loose. Try to repeat it with someone out of the car to better isolate the source.

It doesn't appear to do it on flat ground, but only when the vehicle front right is lower that the rest of the vehicle. I will try and see if I can isolate it better. Has anyone else experienced this? Any other ideas?

No, it is definitely not coming from the brakes. It sounds more like a suspension thing.

I had an issue with creaking in the front; sounded like a suspension issue but the noise was coming from a broken motor mount.

Update: The issue appears to have gone away, so Glake may be correct. I am now thinking a brake caliper got stuck and then released. Time will tell.

Re: Loud clunk in suspension during slow left turns

I took my SRX in for the LCA replacement (squeking when cold outside), and after we got the vehicle back we noticed a clunk noise in the frontend while we were on vacation. I assumed it was nothing, but it got worse as we put more miles on it. When braking, you could hear a single clunk, then when going over bumps it would do it. They had already replaced the sway bar bushings, end links, passenger side LCA, and done an alignment .

After I thought about the work that was performed at the Dealer, I checked behind there work, and "What do ya know", the Upper control arm bolt was loose enough to tighten by hand and a bolt on the bottom (subframe?) was loose. I had $1000+ worth of work done on the front end suspension and they left two bolts loose. This could have ended up really bad. We had only put about 3k miles on the vehicle since the work was done.
