Right Tail light intermitent need to take a look inside

My 2004 SRX right side tail light is intermittent(sometimes working sometimes not). If not working and you tap on the lower right side where the LED controller is located, it will switch on/start working again. I went to my dealer and told them to check the connection but they want to replace the whole tail light. They will charge me $1000 US for what I think is a corroded electrical terminal. This is crazy I'm Trying to open and check this myself but it seems you need to remove the whole rear trim just to get to the tail light (Why they design it this way puzzles me).

Has anybody done tail light removal before and could give tips? I have access to this resource which give info how to do this but any additional information will be greatly appreciated. Wish me luck

The SM and a little common sense is all you need. Go for it.
