    Replacing factory stereo?

I've got a 2004 SRX with the basic 6 disc system. Thinking about replacing this with a new system. Any suggestions? I'm in Aurora, Colorado. If I replace this stereo I'm sure I'll lose the DIC, driver information center.

    Thank you!!!

I have a thread on here about replacing a headunit, yes it can be done, on the thread shows what you need for steering controls, and fascia, do not know about 04 but o7 shows DIC on the instrument panel and I did not loose mine with a after market unit.

    Re: Replacing factory stereo?

I know this is an old thread but maybe someone is around to answer. Just picked up a 2005 SRX and I'm looking at the aftermarket installation. I'm looking to do it like dredd shows but when I popped off the face of the console it has a huge motherboard that runs the entire face of it, what exactly is it for and does it need to be kept (prevents me from creating a hole for the new dub din to fit in).

I added an amp in my Equinox and got everything from Crutchield. Great co. to deal with and their customer support is top notch! Beats dealing with the stores such as Best Buy.

Cadillac SRX 2005 - stereo replace

Hi I have a Cadillac SRX 2005 and am looking to replace the stereo as I would LOVE to have Bluetooth capabilities, or at least the ability to connect an auxiliary device which I can't... Any advised would be greatly appreciated.

Any aftermarket stereo shop should be able to direct you in the right direction

I would think Crutchfield in Cal. would be able to help you. Their tech and customer service are great.

You have a lot of options. Are you looking to do it yourself or have someone else install it?

Re: Cadillac SRX 2005 - stereo replace

check out iSimple ISGM571 for Apple devices http://www.amazon.com/iSimple-ISGM57...ywords=isgm571

or ISGM651 for Android devices http://www.amazon.com/iSimple-ISGM65...ywords=isgm571

around $100 you ADD true streaming Bluetooth, hands free calling, USB and RCA interfaces and 571 APPLE plug, 651 3.5mm jack

There is not a lot of room in the dash.. I found a spot between the upper and lower glove boxes where the module sits secure and hidden.
Unplug the radio, plug in the iSimple, then plug the car harness into the iSimple pig tail.. done.. run the mic over and I placed mine on at the lower left of the dash cluster near the tach.

You lost none of your factory options from Sat radio to OnStar all still function.

2009 SRX - Factory GPS to InDash aftermarket upgrade

I would like to upgrade the "antiquated" GPS that is in my SRX. Has anyone replaced the factory unit with an aftermarket?

    Thanks,

Re: 2009 SRX - Factory GPS to InDash aftermarket upgrade

I installed a tablet in the dash of my 2005. It's on my Verizon account so I use google maps. It's tied into the sound system so I can listen to pandora, watch netflix, google music, etc. I kept my factory Nav unit since it interfaces with all the car's alert messages and fluid changes and all of that. But I also installed a OBDII dongle with bluetooth and have apps on the tablet to interface with the OBDII system to look at more of the car's info. Here's a link to what I did.
