Don't pass on an 07 if it comes up, you loose heated wheel and remote start but still get the upgraded interior.

Good to know- I'm specifically shopping for a 2007 (re: budget) for my mother-in-law right now, mostly looking at base models but entertaining lux packages. This thread is making me second guess the V6 somewhat- I've heard about similar mpg, but not about any timing chain concerns (that it was a chain alone was attractive and assumptive to this timing belt adverse gearhead). Though I test drove a V6 myself today and can concur, plenty peppy. Especially for her. She liked it. Narrowing down which SRX is best...

Does the SRX have an option for air conditoned seats?

SRX has tri-zone climate controls (left and right front and rear), but not cooled seats. Front is typically only heated.

Re: thinking about an '08 or '09 SRX

The base platform for our SRX was implemented around 2004/2005... so it has the base technologies from those years... Cooled seats didn't come around until 2008.

Historically; GM doesn't upgrade base options on a platform, until a total platform change, like the 2011 SRX - which does have cooled seats.

The Denali picked up cooled seats and Bluetooth in 09, two years into the GMT-900 so every now and then you get a new option but maybe just a crossover from the Escalade.

I have never had cooled seats but are they really needed?

Mind you it does not get that hot up here.

Ah that suks. I love cooled seats. It's kind of a deal breaker for me.

I didn't have AC in a car until I purchased my second car at age 19.

So cooled seats is not a big deal to me.

I wonder if you could pull the seats out of a wrecked 2011 and install them in my 09!

Re: thinking about an '08 or '09 SRX

Well, I have another plug for the V6 - I just received a letter from GM, extending the warranty on the timing chain of my 2008 V6 to 10 years/120,000 miles, all free. So, GM came through and is doing the right thing. I know the '07's are getting the warranty also, don't know about other years.

Re: the huge sunroof. They are really cool if you are a sunroof person like I am. But, if you are not really into sunroofs, then probably avoid it if you can. They are prone to ratttles and sticking, and are, frankly, poorly designed and constructed.

I am also tall with long legs, and this is my major gripe about the SRX. I bought the adjustablre pedals thinking it would replace a telescopic wheel, but the pedals adjust only out, not further in. So, I'm either very cramped for legroom, or reaching out for the wheel like a monkey. This will be the biggest thing that will eventually prompt me to sell the SRX before it's time.

I'm tall but long waisted, and for that reason I avoid any vehicles with a sunroof. Sunroofs result in a half to full inch reduction of inside headroom which can be a huge difference when your head is already in the liner.

I am in Alberta and picked mine up in Libertyville Illinois 1500 miles away, so to get the right one you may have to look much further, it was 100% worth the flight and drive.

Re: thinking about an '08 or '09 SRX

A year later and I got the bug again...found a 2008 that is missing some of the options I previously thought of as deal killers if it didn't have it...what do you all think???

No limited slip but it is AWD
    No Magnetic Ride Control...it s an FE1
No Sport Package...just the standard SRX V6 AWD
It does have the Ultraview Moonroof

Low miles and pretty nice condition but I did smell some mustiness in the spare and jack area with some minor rusting on the jack itself...it smelled a bit like cigars despite being sonically cleaned but over all not bad...it drove pretty well...

I still don't know about the center counsel and my right leg...is it something you get used to???

Your thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated...

    Bill
