Odd ? of the day, anyone considering using/used Shell Rotella Synthetic 5W-40 Oil

I was turned onto this oil for use in my quad... After reading various forums, many have used this product in their vehicles with complete success and satisfaction. People were using 5w-30 before trying this. A few posting on b.i.t.o.g have shown their oil analysis wear to be much improved over a 5w-30 synthetic..

I will say this oil is fantastic in my quad compared to everything else I have ever used!

just figured I would throw it out there and see the responses.

Back when I had an oil guzzling Saturn S series car, I tried a LOT of different oils over the course of 150,000 miles.
The Rotella 5W40 was one of the best for low usage.
The only two that were better were Castrol 0W30 (the German mfg green colored stuff, not the US)
and Motorcraft 5W20 (which was a big surprise).

Now the problem with the Saturn was well identified - they left off the drainback holes in the pistons behind the oil rings and the rings sludged up. I don't know if the problem with the Caddys has been as clearly defined.

That is the Diesel oil right?

The rotary guys use it and like it.
