if you dont have a magnetic screwdriver, youˇll have to fish it out with say a long nose plier after you unscrew it

Problem is that no matter how much torque, screw will not turn. Is there something like a reverse direction. I really don't want to break something that will become very expensive.

my experience is that you can remove that screw with no problems

If the screw falls down internally, just remove the climate control unit and get it......

BTW, I never put back the screw in the ashtray without problems as well

I would try a well-fitted head attached to a long handle ratchet or torque wrench. You can also soak it in some WD-40 for a bit before trying.
