    Rear wiper

Can anyone offer a suggestion for a good rear window wiper replacement? I replaced it with a Bosch Excel+ (41913) but it doesn't wipe very well.

    Re: Rear wiper

On our 04 anyway it was not the wiper blade at all but the arm pivot point was tight so the arm did not stay in good contact, I would use dielctric (sp?) grease every few months and it solved the issue.

    Re: Rear wiper

I'll have to try that. Old blade, new blade, not much difference........the rear wiper on mine doesn't do the greatest job. I had chalked that up to the exhaust and other grimy filth the rear hatch window is sunjected to.

    Thanks.

    Re: Rear wiper

I checked the rear wiper and there wasn't any binding or stiffness in the hinge and flexed very easily. I'm gonna try a new wiper because none of the swept area of the wiper is clear and the "smearing" is pretty even.

On another note, does everyone else's washer fluid just spray into a tight stream on the back window? It would think that it should spray and spread over a much larger area like the front does.

    Re: Rear wiper

Does anyone have any more suggestions on this subject, Both the 04 and 09 do the same thing with the wiper. Cone and Professor, stronger spring and grease, I will try the grease and Professor, where did you get the spring to replace?

Had the same problem. Went to SAMs Club to get a winter wiper 13". Tech looked at it and was really stiff to move he used some dielectric grease freed right up making good contact. Now even though I didn't need it now I bought the new blade for the great service he didn't have to provide. New blade would be the same if he hadn't freed it up. Not the first one he's seen I suppose.

Mine also sprays a single stream up the middle. What's worse is that it only reaches about 60% of where the wiper moves. It is not adequate. Has anyone experimented with a different (smaller) nozzle that can spray farther?
