Just replaced one of the bulbs today. I made sure to replace the socket as well. It's dirt cheap. The job really isn't that bad overall, but considering it is just a bulb replacement, it is somewhat ridiculous. I can't imagine paying the dealer 1-2 hrs labor to change a bulb. Caddy owners will become ex-Caddy owners if they keep this up.

Is it just the 2006 sockets that are a problem or are other years problematic also?

I just did this over the weekend. Holy crap that was interesting. Thought I might be able to do it without taking the wheel off but it's just so much nicer without it in the way.

And it seems I have the ultra cool special headlamps, which I thought I just had standard but the standard turn signal bulb didn't fit in there. I thought I would just change both sides out but forget that. I'll just wait for it to burn out. should be only a month or two

^Haha. I just did mine too last tuesday. I did it withthe wheel still on there. It took a good 40 minutes. Mostly because I just cut those retaining clips off since I have extra ones and I didn't need to reuse them. I top left screw was a PITA...needless to say that one did not go back.

Even the 2009s have the same problem. Just changed the passenger side yesterday with a new socket and a little dielectric grease on the contacts. Dealer did the same side under warranty about a year ago. Don't know if he replaced the socket. I doubt it.

I had to replace my driver side. After doing all the work to get the old one out, I found out that they sold me the wrong one. So I had to put it back together to go and exchange it. Secong go around, I removed the air filter box and went in from the top. It looks like it would only work for the driver side. You could try and do the same with the passenger side. Maybe if you removed the fuse box somehow??? Who knows.
