Haha, yeah, I have a 05 V8 AWD with 92,000 mi. Sadly no extended warranty. I can honestly say that I have never had so many problems with any vehicle in my life, and I have owned a lot of 150K+ vehicles.

It's definitely a love hate though. When it is working it is great. And then it breaks.

Re: Show us your SRX Mileage!

Ok, I'm new to this, but we all gotta start somewhere.

Just got an '07 N* AWD @ 57.5k, and it just rolled over into 58k.

    Intial Problems:

-Bad Battery, replaced already, no biggie. Although way more expensive than it should have been, and I shopped around.
-Lake SRX. Removed most of the water with a shop vac. Dried it out pretty good, but I still need to pull the carpet & pad. Will take it in to Caddy for inspection and see if they will cover.
-Mysterious groan from the front end. I'm guessing a faulty control-arm bushing. With the wheel turned and the suspension articulating.
-Slight panel gap in the dash- right in front of the driver. No biggie, but I'm tall and can't not notice it! (I'll post a pic of this)
-Rear portion of the Pana-Roof seal is 1/2 folded over. I will replace the entire seal, either myself or the dealer. Could be the source of Lake SRX. (the roof tends to 'pop' sometimes, from the rear, when pulling into a parking lot or steep driveway. Not sure if this is reason for concern or not or just something that comes with the Pana-Roof)
-Rattle from the right (2nd row) rear seat. I put some folded paper between the body and the seat, and that effectively quelled that rattle. I will devise a more elegant and permanant solution.

Other than that, it is good. We'll see how it holds up over time. I plan on using this as my primary motocross vehicle, hauling my bike on the trailer hitch to and from the tracks, so she will get a workout in my stable. Call it a 'torture test' if you will!

Re: Show us your SRX Mileage!

Has anyone with a FirstGen V6 experienced the mysterious oil consumption issue with your V6 and :

    (A) Fouled spark plugs and/or a poorly running engine as a result of the oils consumption issue?
    (B) Catalytic convertor failure due to oil clogging?
    (C) Blue engine exhaust or burning oil smell?
    (D) Engine failure due to poorly seated oil rings and/or bad valve guides?

If you answered yes to any of these, at what mileage and include the year of your SRX?

    Thanks,
    PJ

I am bumping this thread in the hopes that the high mileage guys can shed some light on oil consumption and/or the V6 timing chain issue.

    Thank you,

I have a 2004 6cyl AWD with 213,000 miles...still going strong except wheel bearing issues seem too frequent.

Re: Show us your SRX Mileage!

It is encouraging to the rest of us to read that the GenI SRX can be a long term, dependable, high mileage vehicle without serious engine issues. Bet there are a sea of people out there whose positive experience is the same. We just don't read about it on a car forum.

The local Cadillac dealer bought it at auction on 03/04/07 with 11,000 miles on it.So no doubt it had a vigorous break in period. At about 17k miles the check engine light came on.Dealer reprogrammed the ECM.At about 39k the dealer performed a 4 wheel alignment and brake pad replacement. At that time they again reprogrammed the ECM,just because they can,I suppose.Other than the regular scheduled maintenance that's been about it.We both have a light foot and the computer indicated gas mileage is 19 or slightly better for our everyday driving and as high as 26 mpg on highway trips. It has the 3:23 rear axle which may help with the mpg. Most have the 3:73 gear ratio,or so I've read. This my first post under username Kizo.I'm not new to the Cadillac forums but after an absence and switching computers,ISP's,and email addresses all combined defied my attempts to log in.It was much easier to just register as new member.
